Island Community Church is pleased to be offering scholarships for local students!

All students local to the Keys pursuing either higher education or trade school may apply, regardless of field of study or faith affiliation. Scholarships are awarded on basis of need, merit, and community involvement.

Learn more about who can apply and what the scholarship covers from our FAQ.

How to apply for a scholarship through ICC:

Gather Necessary Documents

There are two types of applications which require the submission of different documents. Please locate the right application and be sure you have all the necessary documents for that application type. All documents must be uploaded as PDFs. (See this article here for assistance in converting your submissions to PDFs)

Current High School Students

will need:

  • Signed ICC College Financial Worksheet
  • FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI) Page
  • Letter of Recommendation

Current College/Grad School Students

will need:

  • Signed ICC College Financial Worksheet
  • FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI) Page
  • Recent College Transcript with GPA Listed

Fill out a Financial Worksheet

You will need to download and fill out the ICC College Financial Worksheet found below. This helps the scholarship committee assess financial need while determining scholarship awards. Fill it out on your computer or by hand and save it as a PDF to turn in with your application.

Complete a FAFSA Form

If you have not done so already, please complete a FAFSA form to include with your application. This again helps the committee assess needs. Please note that FAFSA has recently switched from giving an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) to Student Aid Index (SAI). You can get to the FAFSA website through the link below. (See a sample completed FAFSA form)

Fill Out An Application

Be sure that you are filling out the appropriate application. If you need to save your application and return to it later, make sure the fields for your name and email are filled in, then find the “Save Draft” button on the bottom of the page. You should receive a link to your application submission to the email you enter.

(First-Time Applicants) Complete a Short Zoom Interview

After the deadline passes, first-time applicants will receive instructions on completing a short interview with the Scholarship Committee over Zoom to help us get to know you better.

Yes! At the bottom of the application, you will find a “Save Draft” button. Click that to save your progress. Make sure you have filled out the email field as the system will send a link to your unfinished application to the email listed. You may want to record your longer answers on a separate word document in the case that you lose access to your unfinished application and need to start over.

Please fill out the form that applies to you with all necessary documents. Your application will be processed and reviewed by our scholarship committee. First-time applicants will be asked to sign up for a time slot for a short virtual interview with the committee shortly after the application deadline closes. You should hear back with a decision by mid-May.

Scholarship awards and amounts are determined by a variety of factors including academic achievement, community involvement, and need.

We are sorry that we couldn’t serve you through a scholarship this year. We urge you to apply for the next year if it still is applicable!

Great! We would love to consider your child for a scholarship and support them in their future endeavors. Please send your child this page and have them fill out an application. We would prefer to communicate with the applicant themselves. Thank you for the way you are investing in your child’s future!

All scholarship money comes from the proceeds of the Island Boat Show. Island Community Church has had the privilege of awarding over $150,000 of scholarship money to students of the Florida Keys because of the generosity of the community towards this event.
